Hello again everyone sorry it has been a couple of days since my last blog, I have been kinda busy with practice and things. I hope this blog finds everyone doing well and I hope that everyone is having a great week.
We had our second practice of the week today and it went really well. I feel that we are looking good on both sides of the ball. Everyone is pretty healthy and it is great to have the Bus back out there on the field. Alan Faneca has not been here for a couple of days because of his pregnant wife so everyone keep he and his family in your thoughts. I know he would appreciate your support.
Since we have talked last I have played in 2 golf outings, Heinz's and Marc Bulgers. Both were a great time except I think Heinz cheated because he won his own outing and I know he is not that good of a golfer haha. Ohh well I guess he had some good golfers on his team.
A couple of us went to dinner last night. We went to Nakoma (I don't know if I spelled it right) but it was really good. It was my first time there and the sushi was great. I took Heath so that we could talk in the car a little on the way over there and I could answer some of his questions..p.s. he's going to be great!!
Anyway, I hope that everyone has a great memorial weekend. Please be safe, smart and remember don't drink and drive. The answer how old is Zeus..he will be 8 months on the 8th of June. The new question is what size shoe do I wear?
Hey Ben,
Seems like everything is going as expected with camp and all. I can't wait for the first kickoff in the regular season! Keep up the great job and we as fans are glad that you were drafted where you were! You have proved all the scouts wrong and it will only get better for not only you, but all of us fans in the Burgh! You are by far an awesome QB and we look forward to many more great seasons to come.
Also, my fire department and police department will be holding a golf outing fundraiser in early September, 2005. If interested in autographing something to be auctioned off, or if you believe it would be possible to stop by for PR/marketing and even get a team together to gold 18 holes, we would love to have you. Just email me and I will send everything you need to know. The golf course is 30 minutes SE of the Burgh on Route 51.
Lets Go Steelers!

Hey Ben!
Saw you at one of your golf outtings, hope you had a good time.
Reguarding the helmet issue, (which i'm sure by now your sick of hearing about) Ride how you want to ride, lifes to short, and no matter if you wear a helmet or not you can't prevent your fate. A good friend of mine died a year ago June 1st riding his bike. He did wear a helmet, but it didn't save his life. Choosing to wear or not wear a helmet is up to the rider. You put yourself at risk as soon as you step out of your house every day, by riding in a car, or even playing on the football field. You can't live your life by other peoples wishes, follow your heart, and what you feel. We belive in you, as you have brought hope back to the Steelers fans, and all of Pittsburgh. Continue doing what you do for you.
O and shoe size, i'm going for 13 1/2- 14, leaning more towards 14.
Take care,
Erin

Hey Ben!
I was looking at your scheduale and noticed you had three monday night games! That's awesome you must be really excited. I have to agree with you this year's draft does look very promising especially with Heath. I'm looking forward to watching him do big things this season as well as of the rest of the team. Oh and by the way if you are still looking for a Massage Therapist I know of a licensed one who would most likley be avalible. She works for my wife who is a Physical Therapist. The Massage Therapist's name is Karen and here is her work phone number if intrested (814) 432-7934. Hope everything is well, I'm watching the in their own words 70 steeler's on the NFL Network. Any way I should probably be going, oh in reponse to your question you wear a size 15 shoe. And One more thing I was wondering if you were going to fit any autograph sessions in your busy offseason.
Take care,
Kevin

Hey Ben! I just started to understand football this year, though I've always been a Steelers fan... I'm from Wheeling, WV about an hour south of Pittsburgh. I made it up for 3 games last year, and it was great to watch you play. At the end of December, I adopted a dog from the pound named Benji, and I extended his name to BenjiDog Roethlisberger Joseph after his favorite football player :-) My mom made him a Steelers jacket too, and he looked so handsome wearing it that a man from the newspaper wanted to take his picture! It was in the Martins Ferry Times Leader the day before the last game this season.

He and I also have matching #7 black jerseys too :-)
And about the shoe size... I vote 14...
Benji says "Woof" to Zeus! Good luck!

Hey!
I haven't been on your site for a while. Things got a little too crazy. Anyway, glad to see that you've been keeping everyone up to date. That's really cool of you. I can't wait for the next season to start. I came on this site today because I had a dream about you this morning...and today is my birthday...it was an awesome way to start the day! Sounds like you're having fun...keep it up!

Hi, my name is Carly Mavrovich from Roscoe, PA ('bout an hour south of pgh)...I am a HUGE fan of the Steelers and have been for years...probably since I was 5 my whole family would sit around and watch football at my birthday parties..haha. (I am now 23) Anyway..despite begging for tickets every year for my bday..I actually had only made it this past year to my first game...it just so happened to be the Eagles game where we handed them an awesome 27-3 defeat on a platter! What a game...what a team. It got even better for me this season when I had the pleasure of taping the Jets playoff game for a small TV station in Uniontown, PA that I work for, when our sports anchor couldn't make it...knowing that I am a huge fan he made sure I took his place. I was right along the Steelers' bench the whole time...I am actually surprised I live to tell the tale. (I thought for sure I'd be the first 23 year old female to die of a heart attack at a football game). I was even in your press conference at the end of the game where I discovered everything I read about you and heard about you was true. You are very well composed, humble and modest. You are truly amazing and what you've done for the team and for the city of pittsburgh is just that as well...amazing. The whole team is amazing and I have always been proud to say that I am a steelers fan. I am excited to see what this year brings....but no matter what happens...win or lose...the Steelers will always have my support. Black and Gold till the day I die ;o) Also if I can just add, that your dog is adorable (I have 2 of my own) and that I think it's great that you keep this blog and let your fans know a little bit about you. Sorry for rambling..this is my first post! Good luck! Tell Ward and Porter I said hello :o) haha.
oh, and i'm gonna guess 14 on the shoe size. :o)

Did Bill Cowher try to make you wear a helment while golfing?
Ben, you are going to be one of the great ones. I love your attitude. Last night we watched ESPN classic about the 70's Steelers. I remember them well. Been following the team for 28 years now. real proud of all you guys

Ben,
Haven't posted on your site in a long time, but I usually like to read through the exchanges between you and the fans. I typically don't have much to say, but I did want to chime in and re-state what so many others have already commented on. I think it is completely amazing how good you are to your fans, it's truly refreshing and quite inspiring. I remember a few years ago when I was just a kid, I got a chance to come to the steelers camp @ St. Vincents - I wanted to meet Barry Foster who was my idol at the time. When he finally came walking by, he completely blew by me and the other fans and refused to sign a single autograph - I'll never forget that. So in short, thank you for being such a role model to your younger supporters, I - as a fan - can really get behind what you do here and greatly appreciate it.
Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the guys this summer @ Latrobe (now that I am finally getting a chance to take some leave and come home again after my deployment), hope to see ya there.

Hey Ben,
Just wanted to say good luck this season, you guys will do great. My little boy (he's 20 months) is a HUGE fan of yours, he even tries to "run plays" in the living room. My guess would be about a size 15 shoe. And Zeus is adorable!

Hi Ben,
I'm going to guess your shoe size is a 14. I hope everyone has had a great week. It's beautiful outside today so I'm going Fishing later. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey Ben,
First, I want to respond to Mike Prilla who spoke about his niece in the ICU after falling off her bike...
Mike, it's extremely unfortunate with your niece, but where were her parents when she was riding this bike? Maybe it should be up to you to talk to her parents and inform them that their daughter isn't wearing a helmet on her bike and that they need to keep a close watch on her. It's their responsibility to watch out for their child. I think that it's ludacris that as an adult you and the rest of the family took an excuse from a child regarding her personal safety. I do hope for the best for your niece.
& Ben... It's Hines not Heinz :) Next time you get a chance to talk to Bulger, tell him an old Morningside Viking said hello.

Hey Ben!
Glad to hear practices are going well. My sister and I are planning to come visit at training camp this year. We're so excited for the upcoming season! We're also going to take a tour of the Rolling Rock brewery while we're up in Latrobe -- maybe we'll bring you a present from there ;o)
Heath seems like a cool guy, and I'm sure you're making him feel very welcome on the team by taking him out to dinner and everything. That's very cool of you. I'm glad that all the Steelers are having a productive off-season (with babies, golf tournaments and whanot).
Keep up the great work, and I things continue to go well for you! You deserve it.
Lots o' black and gold love,
Laura
PS. I have no idea how guys' shoe sizes work...sorry.
