Hey Ben,

I am very sorry for your loss. Your grandpa was probably so proud of you, and is looking down from heaven and smiling. He has no more hurts and is at peace now. Stay strong.

Hey Ben, I just would like you to know as me being 15 years old and you expressing urself like this and letting me interact with you is really something. It is awesome to be able to read what you have to say and i have recently lost a grandmother, but for you to be as old as you are be happy to have spent that time with ur grandfather when u have been older. That's really something.

Hey Ben,
Again I'm really sorry for your loss. My Grandpa died when I was in fourth grade and I know I'll never forget that day. At least I still have my Grandma. On the other side, my Grandpa died before I was born and my Grandma has alzhiemers, so I know how hard it is. On a lighter note, I hope you have a good fourth of July weekend. Maybe you're just spending time with your family or having a picnic or whatever. Anyway, I hope you have fun and be safe! I think I'm going down to D.C. to visit my brother and sister-in-law & to see some great fireworks! Remember, you can get through anything when God is on your side.

Hey Ben

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather, by the description you given us, he sounds like a great man. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. Like you said, he has the best seat for football. Now you know he'll always be watching over you and cheerin you on. You take care and be strong, I know it's gonna be tough but I know you'll hang in there. Love ya and God Bless:)

Michelle

Ben,
I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather. You have my deepest sympathy. I know how hard it is to lose someone you care deeply about. My grandpap was in his 80's when he had a tragic accident at home and passed away. Like your grandparents, they were married for over 60 years and were still in love. And they were both at my games cheering me on, even through college. But on the lighter side of things, its good to hear from you. Take care of yourself. Hang in there.
Love,
Michelle

Ben, my condolences for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

Ben,

Albert Einstein once said, "Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." It seems that your grandfather gave you a wonderful example to follow, and that is the most precious way that you can preserve his memory.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ben,
I posted to you before about your grandfather and wish you and your family well. I know it's hard, but when you are feeling down about I remember the great times you shared with him and also he will always be with you. Your parents and grand parents should be proud of the person you became. Go out this season Ben and prove yourself, make all the critics be quiet. You are an adult, about the helmet and stuff, your old enough to know what could happen. You don't need to listen to anyone but yourself. Play this season for your grandfather, Pittsburgh fans are behind you 100%, and don't feel that you need to go 15-1, just do your best to get to the superbowl. good luck Ben

Hey Ben,
I am truly sorry to here about the loss of your grandfather. My grandpa just had his 80 th birthday in late May and I see him everyday. I love my grandfather very much and we always do mini golf or something and I can only have an idea of what you must feel. I know how it feels when someone so close to you dies how great a grieving pain wants to break loose. Just try to remember the good memories and don't ever forget him. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the Steelers go all the way to the superbowl with out loses and go 19 and 0 or something like that. I am very sorry to hear someone that close to you died.

I am very sorry to hear about your grandfather. It sounds like he was very wonderful man, and I am sure as the only grandson you had to make him very proud with how well you have turned out, you are very strong with your ethics, and your christianity , and are an awesome athlete. You are a good role model and inspiration for a lot of people. As you stated he will have the best seat for all your games, and he will never miss a play. I hope that your season dedicated to him, will be one we all remember! I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
God Bless,
**Rod**

God bless you and your family. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. This song reminds me a lot of my Grandfather (he has been out of the hospital for a couple months now, doctors say he's doing very well and my mother and I are planning on seeing him in August).I hope that these words bring the same warmth to your heart as they do to mine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as always..
Shedaisy's "He's a Hero"

He’s a young man
In his golden years
His hair of black now quickly fades to gray
The limp as he walks
Is his only souvenir
From those purple-hearted, war time days
But you don’t hear him complain
No matter how the fall
I don’t have a lot, he'd always say
But Lord, I have it all

He’s a hero
In my mother’s eyes
He taught her how to raise me right
And never compromise
He always says he has
The finer things in life
Somewhere to live, someone to love
And the Good Book to live by
Some say his heart is big
Although his fortune's small
I don’t have a lot, he'd always say
But Lord, I have it all

A Rembrandt in his own right
A master at his craft
Creating something beautiful
A memory that will last
And always last

He’s the constant
In our family
Beginning this long line of love with care
And even when he's gone
He’ll watch over me
When I close my eyes at night, I feel him there

Wear my name well, my child
Be true and stand tall
You don’t have a lot, he’d always say
But Lord you have it all

You don’t have a lot, he’d always say
But thank the Lord, you have it all

Ben, So so many fans are praying for you. It is at times like these when a pet like Zeus seem to be a gift of comfort from our Heavenly Father. I wish you the peace that passes all understanding.

Ben, So sorry to hear about your loss. My grandfather is in his 80's and losing a step these days and it's sad to see. He and my grandmother recently attended my wedding and drove 18 hours for it. It was an honor to have them in attendence and they are still very much in love after 64 years. It's great that your dedicating the upcoming season to him. Grandfathers are so influential on your life as you grew up. Thanks for sharing your story.

Brittany

Hey Ben I was just wanted to say I'm sorry and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Claudia

Ben,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your grandfather. I know what a loss you're feeling. I'm only 36 and have none of my grandparents left. It's funny - I took so much for granted while they were alive, and now I miss them so much. But I take comfort, and I hope you will too, in knowing that I have the sure hope of seeing them again. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thank you for sharing such personal information. It re-affirms what a warm, extremely human being you really are. We are so fortunate to have you here. God bless you and your family.

Laura

Ben,

So sorry to hear about your grandfather. It sounds like he was a wonderful man, and you wrote a great tribute to him (the part about your grandparents still kissing and holding hands gave me goosebumps).

All of my grandparents are now deceased (I also come from a very close family, so I know it's hard), but I think of them every day and hope I'm making them proud. We also have great stories about each of them that provide endless entertainment at family gatherings.

You and your family are in my prayers :o)

~ Laura
